Town civil land development technologists work closely with planning staff on the development approval process, especially on reviews, Construction Completion Certificates and Final Acceptance Certificates. Their expertise with technical requirements ensures buildings in the Town of Cochrane meet appropriate design standards. They also work with other Town departments on special projects such as environmental studies, drainage management, water course management and more.
The Town follows standard practices and many of Calgary’s guidelines that are available on Calgary's Urban Development Publications website. There are local exceptions however, which staff provide for the local building industry. For more information, contact us.
A lot grading certificate confirms that your lot conforms to local specifications.
While a new area is being built, the developer is responsible for water infrastructure, roads, sidewalks, park areas and more. The Town takes over after completion, a waiting period and final inspection.
Disclaimer: The Town of Cochrane does not directly offer or supply engineering services. All engineering services are provided through qualified and legally authorized third party companies and individuals.
