Our Mission


The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) mission is to encourage, strengthen and stabilize family and community life. Drop into our offices to get a calendar of current programs, visit the resource library, get referral information, pick up government forms and more.

Programs


Cochrane Family and Community Support Services deliver a wide variety of programs and activities for children, youth, parents, adults, seniors and for professional development. Pick up a hard copy of the current Town of Cochrane Program and Activity Guide at our office. Search and register for programs online and see what's happening at the Parent Link Centre.

Criminal record checks


FEE PAYMENT AND REQUEST IN ONE LOCATION

Beginning March 15, 2017 both steps of the volunteer criminal record check and vulnerable sector record check process take place at the RCMP detachment.

IMPORTANT: FEE PAYMENT TAKEN AT RCMP DETACHMENT (not FCSS)

Step 1: Go to the RCMP detachment (359 First St E) 
Criminal record check intake hours: 9am-3pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ONLY
What you need to bring with you: 
• two pieces of identification, one of which must be government-issued photo ID 
• volunteer organization request letter (volunteers only)

Step 2: Pay the fee for your criminal record check (see fees below)
Payment methods:
• cash
• debit
• credit card

Results available two weeks after requests are submitted; return to the RCMP detachment to collect your completed check (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm).

Fees:
• Volunteers (incl. students on unpaid practicum): $10 per check (ask your volunteer organization or school for a request letter)
• Paid positions/record suspensions: $35 per check
