    Art & Drama Summer Camps (ages 6-11)
  • July 3-6,  Art Exploration with Nature  & Magic Tricks
    Enjoy papermaking, rock sculptures, sand art, landscape painting flower painting, printing with nature.  All will be creating for the art Show on Friday! Children will have the opportunity to watch, learn and perform a variety of magic tricks! Through wearing a costume and creating a dramatic character, each child will become a maestro of the performing arts and perform on the final day. Family and friends are invited to the art and drama show. 


  • July 9-13
    Sculpture with Clay and Miniature Broadway Show
    Various colourful clays will be explored to create 3- d art. Make a 3-d island with your favorite creatures, or a sculpt just like a famous artist, and make an abstract or form cute animal. Have fun with art that literally pops off the page. Musical kids will have the opportunity to learn and experience the art of performing in a musical! Learning the skills through a variety of games and activities, each child will shine in the spotlight in a show on the final day! Singing is not mandatory but encouraged! Family and Friends are invited to the drama and Art show on Friday.
     

  • July 16-20  Painting Like an Artist & Stick Puppet Show
    Young artist will create many themed painting on canvas, watercolour paper and board. They will learn how a professional artist might present their art at a show or how to paint like a pro. All will work towards an art show on Friday. Children will have the opportunity to create their very own unique stick puppets, and then create a theatrical story,including every puppet. Performing in a miniature curtain stage on the finalday, the kids will enjoy a week of fun in all shapes and sizes!
     Family and Friends are invited to the drama and Art show.
     
    July 23-27
    Art Adventures & Fairy Tale Fantasy
     Let’sget our hands messy when we mix up different art supplies to make something new. Splatter or drip painting on paper. Printmaking with nature or foundobjects, painting on a wall like a professional, Marbling on paper to make adrawing journal covers and cards. Glue fabric on canvas and paint. All willwork towards an art show on Friday. Family and Friends are invited to the dramaand Art show on Friday.

    Childrenwill have the fantastic opportunity to become engaged in a mystical fairy tale adventure of their own creation. Through picking costumes and forming a fairytale character, the kids will enjoy the experience of creating and performingtheir very own special fairy tale on the final day. Join us for fantasy, magicand mystery!
     Family and Friends are invited to the Drama and Art show on Friday.
     

    Aug 13-17
    Creative Creature Creation Improvised Theatre
    Makingcreatures from paper, clay and found objects is fun, all working towards an artshow at the end of the week. 
    Children will have the fantastic opportunity to learn and perform the wonderful art of Improv, or Improvised theatrical entertainment. With inspiration from ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ the kids will learn how to Improv, and perform a fun and exciting show on the final day. Each child will enjoy a week of fun, inclusion and learning! Family and Friends are invited to the Drama and Art show on Friday.
           

    Aug 20-24
     Drawing, Painting and Sculpture & Super heroes and Villains
    We will combine Drawing, Painting and Sculpture in each art work we make, some will be miniature art some will be large all working towards an art show on Friday. and
    Children will have the opportunity tocreate masks and costume pieces to become their favourite hero or villain. FromSuperman to Batman, each kid will learn dramatic acting skills and participateto create an action-packed story that is performed on the final day!
    Familyand Friends are invited to the drama and Art show on Friday. 

  • Aug 7-10 Music Fun Camp(ages 7-10)                                                                                                           Youth get to try various instruments from drums, guitar keyboards and more. Learn about interesting styles of music. Create fun instruments and end the week with a musical performance.            

  • July 30-Aug 3 and Aug 27-31 Youth Chef Camp                                                                                         Youth learn a wide range of culinary skills including the fundamentals of cooking. Young chefs will  make a variety of healthy recipes they can repeat at home. 

  • Junior Leaders (ages 12 and up) several opportunities are available for youth ages 12 and up to participate in programs or to volunteer as a junior leader.     Artists
    Town of Cochrane, Arts & Culture offers many wonderful experiences for children, teens and adults.  Monthly art exhibitions offer local artists and art groups an opportunity to show case their talents. Artist-in-Residence opportunities are also available during monthly art exhibitions for artists interested in art-making live, for the public to enjoy at the Cochrane RancheHouse.
  • Art Walk July 14, 2018, 9:30am-1pm                                           Local artists are invited to show and sell their art work at the ClubHouse Activity Centre. Monthly Art Walks at the ClubHouse Activity Centre and downtown Cochrane, include a featured artist/gallery showcased at the ClubHouse, second Saturday of each month.
