Town officials are reminding Cochrane residents to obey No Trespassing signs and stay out of areas where signs are posted.
Obeying No Trespassing signs is important for public safety and to protect private property.
This week's fire on Stoney Nation lands to the west of Cochrane is still being investigated; Alberta Agriculture and Forestry crews are putting out hot spots and investigating the cause. Trespassers put themselves at risk and may put the investigation at risk.
Trespassing also includes walking, hiking, walking dogs, letting dogs run off leash, dumping of waste and other activity.
