The Town’s new Parks and Recreation committee has set aside a full day to hear from local parks and recreation groups.
Any local group with a parks or recreation focus has 10 minutes on Saturday June 23 to give the committee an overview of who they are and what they do.
Gerry Murphy is the Town’s Senior Manager of Community Services and is looking forward to seeing the presentations. “We know about the organized sports and recreation groups because they’re very active in Cochrane,” he says. “We hope this opportunity inspires other groups that are traditionally less vocal.”
Groups that express interest in bringing a delegation get a timeslot and a list of questions to answer. The meeting is being held in Council Chambers, so there is also the opportunity to bring a video or PowerPoint presentation.
The Parks and Recreation committee is Council’s advisory body for matters relating to parks and recreation in Cochrane. The information presented will be used by the committee to learn about current groups, as well as about Cochrane’s parks and recreation activities and needs in general.
Groups interested in participating Saturday June 23 should email to request the criteria for a timeslot.
