Naturescape
Cochrane’s residential water use rises by as much as 50% in the summer months. A naturescaped yard reduces your water bill while easing demand on the Town’s water treatment and delivery systems.
To see what a naturescaped garden looks like, check out our demonstration garden at the corner of West Terrace Dr and West Terrace Pt (map).
Water conservation: time-of day watering
Town of Cochrane water conservation bylaw goes into effect at the beginning of May every year. Unless otherwise specified, level one watering restrictions are in place. You may water outside only during 5 - 10 am or 7 pm - 1 am. Remember, established lawns only need 2.5 cm (1 inch) of water per week – enough to fill an average Frisbee! More information.
