Assessment - Residential & Commercial

If you recently bought a new home or made improvements to your property, you may receive a Supplementary Assessment/Tax Notice in November. More information on Supplementary notices.

Property Assessments reflect an estimate of the typical market value of your property developed solely for the purpose of determining your portion of the Municipality's property tax.

Assessment Notices are mailed separately from Tax Notices, to allow property owners the opportunity to review their assessments and raise any concerns they may have about their value before taxes are calculated.

Important:

Property Assessment Notices are mailed at the end of Janaury. Your Assessment Notice is not a bill. Your property assessment will be used to determine your property tax levy (assessed property value x tax rate = your property tax levy). Property Tax Notices and requests for payment are mailed in May.
