First Members Welcomed Into Cochrane Business Incubator Program

(Cochrane, AB) – Yesterday, Cochrane Council and Administration welcomed the first members of the Cochrane Business Incubator. Four inaugural startup founders will participate in the incubator's comprehensive resources, mentorship opportunities and supportive environment for the next one to two years. 

The Cochrane Business Incubator, located in The Station at Cochrane Crossing, is dedicated to fostering innovation, connection, and business growth. Its mission is to nurture entrepreneurial connections and support pre-seed stage startups towards becoming resilient and prosperous local companies that contribute to Cochrane's thriving business community. 

“Welcoming these promising startups into the Cochrane Business Incubator marks an important milestone in Cochrane’s aspiration to drive innovation and economic growth," said Mike Korman, Interim Director, Planning & Development Services, Town of Cochrane. "We are pleased to support these founders as they have the potential to make a significant impact in their respective industries and contribute to Cochrane's economy and employment opportunities."

The four accepted members represent a diverse range of industries and possess exceptional potential for growth. The Town of Cochrane would like to congratulate the following members on their acceptance: 

  • CEBO Cleaning Co.: With over 10 years of experience in the service industry, CEBO Cleaning Co. connects vetted and qualified independent cleaners and cleaning companies customized to the needs of customers.
  • Cochrane Bio-Char: Founded in 2020, Cochrane Bio-Char designs pyrolysis equipment to innovatively manufacture agriculture-grade Biochar from waste wood. 
  • Hire a Teacher: Helps the best employers find the best future employees, teachers!
  • Plus 5XP: Using relationships with academia and industry, Plus 5XP helps bridge the gap for young professionals who wonder how they can get jobs that are asking for experience right after graduation.

These incubator members will now gain access to the incubator's range of workshops, mentorship and 24/7 office and boardroom resources. They will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, network with like-minded entrepreneurs, and navigate the early-stage challenges of business development more effectively. 

The Cochrane Business Incubator, housed within The Station at Cochrane Crossing, also serves as the home for Cochrane Business Development, Cochrane Chamber of Commerce, Cochrane Tourism, Innovate Cochrane and Community Futures West. This collaborative space ensures that the incubator program remains at the forefront of fostering entrepreneurial excellence and driving economic growth.
