Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation Library and Archives July 2020 - virtual art show
The Bert Sheppard Library and Archive, which is managed by the Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation, is located in the east end of the Cochrane RancheHouse.
The year 2020 marks our 40th Anniversary! Our facility captures the western lifestyle through western art. Come visit us to see more paintings, bronzes, books and displays featuring artifacts; all with a western theme.

Notes on painting in this show:
The painting titled Jonas Rider painted by Ted Schintz is a portrait of a ranch hand named Jonas at the Bar U ranch. Jonas was the Calgary Stampede Calf roping champion in 1923.
The painting titled, The Winnipeg Explosion by Buckeye Blake 1981 - Fanny Sperry-Steele was a world champion female bronc rider, who also won the 1912 Calgary Stampede receiving $1000.00 cash, a $300.00 gold belt buckle and a hand tooled saddle.
