Virtual Art Show

COVID-19 RESPONSE

With growing concerns and rapid changes surrounding COVID-19, Town of Cochrane has regretfully cancelled all scheduled Arts and Culture programs and events within our facilities until July 2. For more information and updates, check Cochrane’s Response to COVID-19.

Virtual Art Show: June 2020

Featured art group: The Group of Three — Karen Orser, Karen Stienstra, Beryl Moe

This art journey brings together three Cochrane artists who met through the Foothills Art Club and have painted together for many years. Each artist paints in a different medium (oil, acrylic, watercolour) and has their own style. See more of their work.

Karen Orser

This virtual show is quite a departure for me as I am used to physically hanging my artwork for people to see. I paint in acrylics and love to draw, so have included a few drawing pieces. I paint mostly landscapes, but also animals and each piece is a learning experience for me. I take art lessons at Blackwell Studios and have enjoyed classes with Diane Williams (painting the spirit of the horse). I am thrilled to be showing my work along with Beryl and Karen. If you wish to contact me please do so at karenorser@telus.net. Commissions accepted.

Beryl Moe

I have been fortunate to display my art at the Town of Cochrane offices for several years in June. This year I asked Karen Orser and Karen Stienstra to join me. As all events have been cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19, as well as our Foothills Art Club annual spring show, those events will not go on. The paintings I have selected here are some of my favorite pieces and most I don’t wish to part with but represent the type of subjects I enjoy painting. I paint mainly with oils and also had some success with soft pastels and use acrylics for under painting and have tried watercolours. A long standing member of the Foothills Art Club and many years as part of the executive. I also enjoy curling, golf, gardening and being a Grandmother to 19 beautiful children.
