Thriving companies rely on a talented workforce to achieve success. The Town of Cochrane is making it easy for local employers to meet the people they need to reach those goals.
Cochrane’s annual Job Fair — now in its 10th year — brings 200 to 300 job seekers together in one place so employers can find people who want to contribute to their success.
“The Town puts a lot of work into making the Job Fair a valuable experience for local employers,” says Mike Korman, Cochrane’s Economic Development manager. “We support local businesses because we know a thriving local economy is good for the community in general, as well as business owners and employees.”
Each organization that attends the Job Fair gets a table and chairs — enough space to share information, post company information and current job openings, collect resumes, screen candidates, answer questions and even conduct short interviews. Some employers have even made hiring decisions at past fairs.
Companies that don’t have current job openings can also benefit from participating: they can learn more about the talent pool in Cochrane and build awareness of their organization.
It’s free to participate in the Job Fair; the event is presented by Town of Cochrane Economic development as part of its support of local business. This year, the event takes place Saturday February 22 from 10am to 2pm at the Lion’s Event Centre.
