BRING THE PARTY TO YOUR BLOCK

Block-Party-2020-SM

Bring the celebration to your block this fall with a neighbourhood block party.

Cochrane Family and Community Support Services, with the support of Mackay’s and Two Pharmacy, is offering free ice cream and PPE kits to encourage residents to plan block parties – fun social events that are a great way to meet neighbours, make new friends, and enhance community safety and awareness.

Cochrane Family and Community Support Services Manager Kim Krawec explained that neighbourhood block parties are an easy way to encourage strong relationships among neighbours.

“The Social Recovery Task Force survey heard from many residents that social isolation is a top concern,” said Krawec. “Now more than ever, we need to be socially connecting with one another.”

The Town modified the block party program to help facilitate those connections while still following public health orders. The addition of Mackay’s sweet treat and PPE supplies from Two Pharmacy makes it even better and safer.

The first 20 Cochrane residents who sign up to plan a block party receive a free planning kit including ice cream vouchers and PPE kits for up to 50 people, door hanger invitations, activity suggestions, and more.

To sign up for a kit, block party organizers must fill out an application at cochrane.ca/Neighbours at least 15 days before their event.
