(Cochrane, AB) – Applications are now being accepted for the new Community Investment Grant Program aimed at providing financial support to local groups.
The program funds projects, events or capital expenditures delivered by local, registered not-for-profit organizations that enhance and enrich the community.
“The new program, given the green light by Council last year, is designed to be equitable, sustainable, transparent and accountable — both for the organizations seeking funding support and for the Town to administer,” said Kristie Bell, Manager, RancheHouse Event Centre, Community Events and Culture, whose department will administer the fund.
Grants are available as follows:
Events and Projects Matching Grants: Open to Cochrane non-profit groups, with applications accepted until May 1. Eligible community sectors include arts, culture, heritage, social, recreation or environment.
Groups receiving funding are required to provide financial reporting. The reports will be combined with totals of in-kind support (Town staff time and equipment) for more accurate accounting of the costs of public events. The Town will use the information to explore opportunities to further support a range of innovative programing for community building.
The program replaces the former Civic Partnerships, Community Grants and Arts and Culture Endowment Fund. For more details on the policy and eligibility, please check cochrane.ca/CommunityGrants.
