1. Why is my username and password for online services not forwarded to me immediately after I submit my request?

It will take approximately 24 hours to receive your username and password for our online services once we have received your request. All of the Town's information is covered under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP Act). For this reason and for our customers' protection, we double check all of our accesses before distributing any usernames and/or passwords.

2. My username for online services is all numbers. Can I change this to something more familiar to me?

At this time your username for online services is all numeric and must remain so. It cannot be changed to anything else as this is the identifier for your information in our database.

3. Can I pay my property taxes online through eServices?

The Town of Cochrane currently does not accept payment for property taxes by credit card. The eServices only provides an inquiry service in regard to property tax and assessment.

4. I do not always have access to the company credit card, is there any other way that I can process and receive a tax certificate online?

The Town offers two ways to request, process and receive a tax certificate online. In both methods the tax certificate is received immediately via email through a secure internet connection.

• Login with a secure user ID and password, process and acquire the tax certificate, receive a semi-monthly invoice from the Town

5. What is the difference between the tax and assessment information provided through the public information search and a tax certificate?

The tax and assessment information provided through the public information search does not show any financial considerations such as an outstanding account balance or TIPP information. This type of information is protected from the public under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

6. How long does it take to receive an animal license that I have requested and paid for through eServices?

Animal licenses requested and purchased through eServices are mailed out within five business days of processing the payment.

7. If I own a business in town does my business name appear in the Town of Cochrane's Online Business Directory?

Any business within the town's jurisdiction with a current and valid Town of Cochrane Business License will have its business name appear in the Town of Cochrane's Online Business Directory. Any business has the choice to opt out of the Town of Cochrane's Online Business Directory.
