    Doors open Cochrane is free, rare access to local businesses not normally open to the public. For one weekend only, buildings in all areas of town open their doors – free of charge – to the public and provide special tours and behind-the-scenes experiences. Doors Open is a well-established and highly successful international concept that allows people free access to buildings in order to create enthusiasm for heritage and contemporary architecture, and increase the appreciation of historic and culturally significant places and spaces.

  4. Cannabis Smoking Bylaw: Round-table Discussions

    The federal government is making plans to legalize and regulate cannabis in Canada, with legislation scheduled to take effect this year. Cochrane’s smoking bylaw is being revised to cover the public consumption of cannabis. In an effort to protect children and limit second-hand exposure, The Provincial Act – Bill 26: An Act to Control and Regulate Cannabis has restricted smoking or vaping of cannabis in any public place where tobacco is restricted. Municipalities must uphold and enforce these restrictions. Talk to us about the Town's Smoking Bylaw as it relates to cannabis by attending this Round-table Discussion.
