Community Connector Pilot Project – Glenbow

This project is on hold, if you are interested or would like more information please call 403-851-2250.

This initiative empowers neighbours to connect, share their strengths, and create a more resilient community. Together, we can engage and prepare for whatever comes our way.

Vision: A connected community where neighbours support one another, share resources, and come together to create vibrant neighbourhoods we all want to live in.

Community Connector Role: Community Connectors engage with the neighbours who live around them (approximately 20 households). They introduce themselves and offer an invitation to a block social (e.g., block party, BBQ, etc.). Through these efforts, neighbours begin to connect and build relationships over time.

Connectors use a Connector Card to guide conversations and record what their neighbors share. The information gathered is added to a Neighbourhood Inventory, which helps strengthen the sense of community and belonging. The information gathered will be handled with care and respect, much like local community group membership details, ensuring it is only used to benefit the neighbourhood. Connectors are required to have current Vulnerable Sector Record Check.

What is a Community Association?

Community Associations are where neighbours work cooperatively to make their neighbourhood a better, more inclusive place to live. The members of your Community Association want you to feel safe and love where you live. Their volunteers are dedicated to making your community a great place to live, work and play. The association may consist of homeowners and renters,  who live in a certain neighbourhood. Community associations are volunteer-based, grass-roots organizations that can incorporate as a registered society under the province.
