Address
Cochrane Historical Museum - 20 Bow Valley Trail
Event details
Celebrate the re-dedication of the plaque and statue for the Men of Vision.

The Men of Vision statue in Cochrane, Alberta, symbolizes the pioneering spirit of early cowboys and highlights the vital role of ranching in the province's economic growth. Commissioned by Alberta Culture, the statue, created by artist Malcom James MacKenzie, stands as a tribute to the ranchers and cowboys who built the town. The original dedication dates back to 1979.

The event location is in the park area, approximately 250m from the parking lot at the museum, along a paved pathway just over the bridge. There will be dedication speeches with the Mayor Jeff Genung as well as original family members of the commissioned artist. Please join us promptly at 5pm for speeches, followed by the unveiling, and the opportunity to travel up to the statue for viewing. Cupcakes to follow!
