Property tax estimator

Your tax dollars help fund essential municipal services, Alberta education and local seniors’ housing. Understanding where your tax dollars go is important. While 62% of property taxes support town services, nearly 38% of your property taxes will be sent to the Province.

In 2025, the Province increased the education property tax rate after a one-year freeze. As a result, most property owners will see an increase in the education portion of their bill. Use our Property Tax Estimator to find out how this change impacts you.

How to use the property tax estimator

  1. Select your property classification (residential or non-residential).
  2. Enter your property assessment value (numbers only — for example, 680000).
  3. Click “Calculate.”
  4. View your estimated 2025 information and compare it to 2024, if available. To view previous years’ assessment values, log in to your eServices account and check the “Assessment” tab for historical information. Your official assessment value is mailed each January.
