Celebrate Labour Day weekend in Cochrane at Discovery Days, brought to you by Quilico Communities, a four-day festival with over 80 events, activities, and activations across five districts. The whole town comes alive with history, culture, music, food, and family fun.
Highlights include the thrilling Wild West Shootout downtown, horse-drawn wagon rides and cowboy poetry at the Cochrane Ranche, and the awe-inspiring Birds of Prey program in the Living Land and Culture zone. Families can enjoy the Wild West Carnival at the library, while art lovers explore Art-in-the-Park, Route 22’s Wet Paint Sale & Soirée, and plein air painting across town. Visitors can step back in time with historical walking tours, living history re-enactments, and pioneer cabins, or join in Indigenous cultural experiences like hide tanning and the Indigenous market. Evening fun features community concerts, a cabaret, BBQs, and local food trucks, while the Trading Post market runs all weekend.
Alongside the beloved Cochrane Lions Rodeo and Labour Day Parade, Discovery Days showcases the best of Cochrane’s Western roots, Indigenous culture, and small-town charm — making it the weekend to visit Cochrane.
