We are excited to start our first ever Loose Parts program at the Cochrane Public Library!
Loose parts is all about using open-ended materials that children can move, manipulate, control and change while they play. The materials come with no specific set of directions, and they can be used alone or combined with other materials. Children can turn them into whatever they desire!
These objects invite conversations and interactions, and encourage collaboration and cooperation. They also promote social competence because they support creativity and innovation.
This program is drop-in!
However we do require that parents stay with their children for the duration of the program, as this program is for children aged 3 to 5.
