Event details
Cochrane and Area Hospice Society presents our Fall Speaker Series - Care for the Caregiver.

September 17 - Caregivers 101.
No one chooses to be a caregiver, yet one million Albertans are currently living the caregiving journey without hesitation. At Caregivers Alberta, our role is to champion unpaid, family caregivers so that they can fulfill their roles in a healthy, sustainable way. Let us share with you who are Caregivers and how do they impact our greater society. Presented by Sandra Scott of Caregivers Alberta

October 15 - Compassion Fatigue.
Compassion fatigue is real. This speaker session invites caregivers, volunteers, and community members to explore how constant caring can affect our bodies, minds, and relationships. Learn practical ways to notice burnout early, set healthy boundaries, and care for yourself while supporting others through serious illness and end-of-life. By attending, you help build a community where no one faces this journey alone. Presented by Karyn Carty, Emergency Services Communications Specialist

November 19 Self Care in Caregiving
One common humanity is that suffering is a part of life. Caregivers constantly provide compassion and care for others yet have the most difficulty in showing compassion towards themselves. This session will explore how to offer ourselves acceptance and gentleness in these moments through self-compassion and mindfulness. Presented by Sandra Scott of Caregivers Alberta
