After the success of Cochrane’s Merry & Bright Award, the Town of Cochrane is bringing the community-wide fun to another favourite time of year with Spooky & Bright.
Residents are invited to get creative, decorate their homes and show off their Halloween spirit. From spooky front porches and elaborate yards to fun, kid-friendly displays, nominate your own home or a neighbour whose display deserves some recognition!
How to participate
- Decorate your home, window, porch, balcony or yard for Halloween.
- Nominate your own display or another Cochrane display between October 12 and 23.
- Explore participating displays using the Town’s interactive online map.
Vote for your favourites between October 26 and 31.
Award categories
Participating displays will be eligible for one of four categories:
- Best small display: For smaller yards, porches, windows, balconies or other limited spaces.
- Best large display: For larger-scale displays that transform the yard or exterior of the home.
- Scariest display: For the display that delivers the biggest fright through atmosphere, creativity, props, lighting, sound and/or special effects.
Best kid-friendly display: For a fun, imaginative and welcoming Halloween display that’s especially enjoyable for young children.

All winners will be announced on November 3. Each participating display is eligible to win one category. only.
Each winner will recieve a $100 gift card to a local Cochrane business of their choice.
