Cochrane Municipal Policing Committee

The Cochrane Municipal Policing Committee enhances community safety by fostering collaboration, transparency, and active resident engagement. By shaping local policing priorities and maintaining an open dialogue between residents, Council, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the committee works to create a safer, more connected community for everyone.

Commitment

Cochrane Municipal Policing Committee key responsibilities:

• Overseeing the RCMP Service agreement: Ensuring it aligns with community needs and priorities.
• Collaborating with the Officer in charge: Helping set annual policing priorities based on input from the community and stakeholders.
• Serving as a liaison: Acting as the vital link between the RCMP and residents to address concerns and share updates.
• Promoting transparency and accountability: Helping the community understand policing practices and fostering open dialogue between residents and law enforcement.
