Cochrane, AB – On Thursday, April 2 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) will be closing the 5th Avenue railway crossing between First Street and Glenbow Drive. This closure is required to allow CPKC crews to safely complete work at the railway crossing.
During the closure, through traffic will not be permitted across the railway crossing. Clearly marked detours will be in place to guide motorists around the closure, as shown on the traffic accommodation map, and access to local properties will be maintained where possible.
Motorists should anticipate increased traffic on surrounding roads, temporary delays and the presence of construction and railway crews working in the area.
Drivers are encouraged to review the traffic accommodation map in advance, plan alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted signage. The Town thanks residents and commuters for their patience and cooperation while this important railway work is completed.
