Cochrane, AB - Public engagement is now underway for the Town of Cochrane’s Economic Development Strategy, a 10-year plan that will guide how the Town supports local businesses, strengthens the local economy, and sets economic priorities for the next decade. The strategy builds on the direction established through Envision Cochrane 2050 and focuses on identifying practical actions to support business activity, long-term economic stability, and a resilient local economy.
Residents, business owners, employers and community partners are invited to participate in the online survey, which is now open until April 17, 2026. Feedback gathered through the survey and upcoming engagement opportunities will help inform the priorities and actions included in the final strategy.
Nicole Hannay, Manager of Economic Development highlights how “Strong communities are built on strong local job opportunities. By participating in this engagement, residents and businesses can help us attract and support a diverse range of industries and career paths that will benefit current residents and open doors for Cochrane’s youth in the years ahead.”
In addition to the online survey, the Town will host pop-up engagement events at The Cochrane Job Fair on March 25th, at The Chamber of Commerce Trade Show on May 2-3rd, and additionally a Community Open House on May 22nd. Details about these opportunities are available on Let’s Talk Cochrane.
