Cochrane community clean up brings residents together to beautify parks and green spaces

Following last year’s tremendous success, the Cochrane Community Clean Up returns, bringing residents together to beautify our parks and green spaces. This family-friendly initiative takes place on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and everyone is invited to participate.

Volunteers can pick up supplies at designated pickup/drop-off locations throughout Cochrane. Each site will have garbage bags and a clearly marked drop-off area for collected litter. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and any additional clean-up tools they may need. Once the clean-up is complete, Cochrane’s Parks and Open Spaces team will handle the disposal of all collected waste.

Trish Kluane, Manager of Parks & Open Spaces, highlights the opportunity for larger groups to register in advance: “To ensure sufficient supplies, we encourage community organizations and groups to register with their group size and preferred clean-up site. Plus, participants have a chance to win an incredible prize - a free block party trailer booking and a $200 grocery gift card! The group collecting the most bags per person will take home this amazing reward. This event is not just about cleaning up; it’s about fostering community spirit, environmental awareness, and making Cochrane a better place for everyone.”
