(Cochrane, AB) – Cochrane Emergency Services is pleased to announce the launch of their 2023 Emergency Services Parade, as well as share the success of their most recent food drive, all in the spirit of giving this winter season.

From November 4-7, Cochrane Fire Services hosted their fifth annual food drive. Members of Cochrane’s Fire Services accepted goods and donations on site at Save-On-Foods last week in support of Legacy Place Society: https://legacyplacesociety.com/.

The community's response to this year's food drive was overwhelming with three pick-up trucks and two Home Depot vans filled to the brim with food donations, and $2,300 in cash and gift cards collected.

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated,” expressed Jay Judin, Director of Protective Services, Town of Cochrane. “Your contributions will play a crucial role in creating hampers to support those in need throughout the winter months. Fire Service members volunteered their time as a way of supporting those that serve our community as first responders and military personnel.”

Building on this spirit of giving, the Emergency Services Parades will kick off the week of November 20th. The parade will serve to collect unwrapped donations of non-perishable food items, toys, toiletries, baby supplies, pet needs, and gifts for all, as part of the Cochrane Activettes ‘Share Your Christmas’ campaign.

A sincere thank you to Cochrane Fire Services, Cochrane Municipal Enforcement, Cochrane RCMP, Cochrane Activettes, Cochrane and Area Victim Services and Urban Casual Cochrane for their significant contributions. The parades are tentatively scheduled as follows:

•    Nov 21: Fireside

•    Nov 23: Riversong, Willows, Rivercrest, Precedence, Riviera

•    Nov 24: East end, Cochrane Heights, Sunterra
