Cochrane Fire Services Wraps Up Summer Safety Campaign

(Cochrane, AB) – Today wraps up Cochrane Fire Services six-week summer safety campaign “Be Summer Safe.”

The highlighted campaign, launched in July, emphasizing the importance of being summer safe. Cochrane Fire Services released weekly tips on social media with information for residents regarding summer safety “hot-topics.” The campaign covered themes such as grill and fire pit and water safety, fire bans, heat waves, adverse weather and more.

“Cochrane community safety is our top priority and this campaign highlighted messages that we felt were important for residents to keep in mind year after year while they enjoy life in this great community,” says Fire Chief Polley. “We are thrilled to have seen so many of our community members taking proper precautions to be summer safe. This year we saw the number of river rescue and fire pit calls drop compared to previous years, leading us to believe the campaign had a positive impact on the community.”
