(Cochrane, AB) – The Town of Cochrane and the Cochrane Lions Rodeo raised the rodeo flag on Thursday, September 3, marking the start of the 60th annual Cochrane Lions Rodeo.
The Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo brings residents and visitors together during the Labour Day long weekend. The rodeo celebrates Cochrane’s western heritage, while Discovery Days offers free, family-friendly activities presented by Explore Cochrane and community partners throughout town.
“The Cochrane Lions Rodeo is an opportunity for residents and visitors to come together, celebrate our western heritage and enjoy a longstanding community tradition,” said Mayor Morgan Nagel. “The Town is pleased to recognize this longstanding tradition and the many volunteers and partners who help make the weekend possible.”
“Raising the rodeo flag with the Town of Cochrane is a great way to celebrate the tradition, community spirit and generations of support that have made the Cochrane Lions Rodeo weekend what it is today,” said Chris Connon, Cochrane Lions Club president and Cochrane Lions Rodeo co-chair. “As we celebrate our 60th rodeo, we’re proud to see the whole community come together and help carry that tradition forward.”
The Cochrane Lions Rodeo takes place throughout the Labour Day long weekend, with events and activities for residents and visitors to enjoy.
