(Cochrane, AB) – Cochrane is honoured to support the Cochrane & Area United Way Partnership’s annual campaign by hosting a fundraising event this October. On October 14, from 3:30-7pm in front of the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) building, Cochrane is hosting a family-friendly event to help raise funds towards the “Give a Little Love” campaign.
The event will feature fun activities, a community BBQ and an opportunity to meet the groups who receive funding. Donations will be welcome on-site as well as leading up to the event. Interested donors can learn more about the organizations and the impact that the funding has had on our community and donate at Cochrane.ca/unitedway.
“FCSS and the United Way of Calgary and Area have partnered for the past 23 years to provide funding to local agencies working to make our community stronger. Every dollar raised in Cochrane, stays in Cochrane,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of Family and Community Support Services, Town of Cochrane. “This is a great opportunity to come out, enjoy the festivities, learn about the organizations that have received funding and help those in the community who need it most.”
The Give a Little Love campaign, a new fundraiser hosted by the Cochrane & Area United Way Partnership, aims to raise money to address complex social issues within the community.
In 2021 alone, over 11,000 individuals were impacted through the funding from Cochrane & Area United Way Partnership. Over the last five years, the United Way has provided over $365,500 to local Cochrane organizations working to address complex issues such as poverty, mental health, social isolation, domestic violence, intergenerational trauma and food security
