(Cochrane, AB) – Cochranites are invited to ‘Give a little love’ and support the Cochrane & Area United Way Partnership fundraiser event. Community members are invited to attend family-friendly event on June 23rd from 4-7pm at the newly opened green space/park, located adjacent to The Station (360 Railway Street).
The event will feature a community BBQ, dunk tank, life-size outdoor lawn games and an opportunity to meet the groups who receive funding from the Cochrane and Area United Way Partnership. Donations will be welcome on-site, as well as leading up to the event.
“FCSS and the United Way of Calgary and Area have partnered for the past 24 years to provide funding to local agencies working to make our community stronger. Every dollar raised in Cochrane, stays in Cochrane,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of Family and Community Support Services, Town of Cochrane. “This is a great opportunity to come out, enjoy the festivities, learn about the organizations that have received funding and help those in the community who need it most.”
The “Give a Little Love” campaign aims to raise money for local Cochrane and area agencies that address complex social issues. Event attendees and those looking to get involved are encouraged to take part in the free activities and support where they can by donation.
Over the last five years, the United Way has provided over $365,500 to local Cochrane organizations working to address complex issues such as poverty, mental health, social isolation, domestic violence, intergenerational trauma, food security and more.
