(Cochrane, AB) – Cochrane’s continued investments in our roadway networks are paying dividends, as three critical projects have now achieved substantial completion: the Highway 1A improvements project, Centre Avenue phase 3, and East End Storm improvements.
These projects pave the path for the future tie-in to the Provincial Highway 1A and 22 Interchange project and are already providing significant improvements to traffic flow in our community.
While these projects are substantially complete, residents should anticipate some remaining work. On the Highway 1A improvements project, this includes the 4th Avenue wall enhancements, outstanding landscaping, and installation of metal guard rails along the low-height retaining wall south of Highway 1A.
For the Centre Avenue (Phase 3) and East End Storm Improvement projects, remaining work this year is to complete remaining landscaping and private sidewalk tie-ins. Some touch-up work of the paved areas will also be completed in the next two weeks to ensure safe snowplow operations in the winter. Final top-lift paving will be completed in 2025 to accommodate any anticipated settling of the road.
