(Cochrane, AB) –Residents are once again invited to help local students celebrate graduation with confidence through Grad Glow Up, an annual event that provides access to free formal attire donated by the community so that they can attend their high school graduation in style. The program helps reduce the financial barriers associated with graduation while giving quality formal attire a second life, supporting both affordability and sustainability.

Grad Glow Up is led by Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), in partnership with the Family Resource Network (FRN), BCG Cochrane and Area, Helping Hands Society, The Clothesline and local businesses. 2026 is the program’s second year and the event will mark Grad Glow Up’s third event.

Cochrane residents are encouraged to donate gently used formal attire purchased within the past five years, including:

  • Floor-length gowns
  • Suits
  • Suit jackets
  • Dress shirts
  • Dress pants

The 2026 Grad Glow Up event will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at the Cochrane RancheHouse, where registered students will be paired with a Glow Up Guide to help them select the perfect outfit.

Donations will be accepted until November 20, 2026. Student registration opens today, September 14, 2026.

"Graduation is an important milestone, and every student deserves the opportunity to celebrate it with confidence," says Kim Krawec, Manager of FCSS, Town of Cochrane. "Grad Glow Up is made possible through the generosity of our community, helping ensure local graduates can find an outfit they feel great in while easing the financial pressures many families face."

Since its launch, Grad Glow Up has grown through strong community partnerships and generous donations from residents and businesses, helping make graduation more accessible while fostering a greater sense of belonging for local youth.
