Cochrane, AB - As a result of the anticipated hot weather conditions and the current dry, cured grasses, Cochrane has issued a fire restriction, effective at 1600 hrs. May 7, 2025. Fire hazard conditions are at a level where wild land fires can start and grow quickly.
The following activities are prohibited:
• open fire permits
• town fire pits
• backyard fire pits
• charcoal briquette barbecue
The following are allowed during the fire ban:
• propane/natural gas barbecue
• propane/natural gas fire pit
• outdoor fireplace
• chiminea
• fornos oven
• indoor fireplace (wood burning)
