(Cochrane, AB) – As a result of the anticipated hot weather, windy conditions and the current dry grasses, Cochrane has issued a fire restriction effective at 16:00 hrs on June 9, 2025.
Fire Restriction level means high fire danger. Fire hazard conditions are at a level where outdoor fires can start and grow quickly.
The following are NOT allowed when fire hazard levels are fire restriction:
- open fire permits
- town fire pits (Mitford Park, Riverfront Park, Cochrane Ranche)
The following are allowed during the fire restrictions:
- propane/natural gas barbecue
- propane/natural gas fire pit
- outdoor fireplace
- chiminea
- fornos oven
- indoor fireplace (wood burning)
- pellet stoves and smokers
- backyard fire pits
- charcoal briquette barbecue
