(Cochrane, AB) - Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and Family Resource Network (FRN), in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club, Dave’s Drycleaning, Helping Hands, and The Clothesline, are thrilled to announce the launch of the Grad Glow Up initiative. This exciting program is designed to help graduating high school seniors celebrate their milestone in style, regardless of financial constraints.

Graduation is a significant event for students, but the cost of formal wear can be a burden for many families. Grad Glow Up offers a solution by providing access to donated formal attire such as dresses, gowns, suits, and dress shirts to students in need. The community is invited to donate gently used, ready-to-wear formal wear to support this initiative, ensuring every graduate can shine on their big night.

“This initiative is about more than just formal wear - it’s about ensuring that every student feels supported and valued as they step into this important chapter of their lives,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of Family and Community Support Services, Town of Cochrane. “We are grateful for the incredible support from our partners and the community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our graduating seniors.”

Community members can drop off donations at The Clothesline, Helping Hands Store, and FCSS. In addition to the formal attire drive, Grad Glow Up is seeking sponsorship from local businesses. Tailors, hair salons, barbershops, and other service providers are encouraged to contribute gift cards or discounts to help make graduation a truly special occasion for these students.

The Grad Glow Up event will take place on March 1, 2025, at the Cochrane RancheHouse, where students will be paired with a Glow Up guide to help them find the perfect outfit. Registration opens on November 1, 2024. For more information on how to donate, sponsor, or participate in this meaningful initiative, visit www.cochrane.ca/gradglowup.
