(Cochrane, Alberta) - The Town of Cochrane’s Municipal Enforcement team is enhancing customer service with the launch of a new 24/7 dispatch service, giving residents access to a live representative any time of day, every day of the year.
Effective July 6, residents can call Municipal Enforcement at any time to report a concern or request service. Every call will be answered by a live dispatcher, ensuring service requests are received, documented and assessed through a secure dispatch system.
The enhanced service is delivered in partnership with Alberta’s Employee Safety Office, a branch of the Government of Alberta’s Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction ministry. The partnership provides residents with around-the-clock access to professional dispatch services, while ensuring personal information is collected, managed and protected in accordance with applicable privacy, information security and records management legislation.
While calls can now be received 24 hours a day, Municipal Enforcement operational service hours remain unchanged. Community Peace Officers continue to provide enforcement services from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the summer months. Calls received outside of operational hours will be documented, assessed, prioritized and queued for response when an officer is on duty. Emergencies will continue to be redirected to police.
“This is a significant enhancement to the service we provide residents,” said Flynn Scott, Manager, Municipal Enforcement. “Through this partnership, residents can reach a professional live dispatcher at any time. It gives the community a reliable point of contact while helping our team receive, document and respond to service requests more efficiently.”
Residents will continue to use the same Municipal Enforcement phone number they have always used. Calls will be seamlessly forwarded to the new dispatch service, making the transition simple and familiar for the community. Residents can also use the Cochrane App as another convenient way to connect with the Town, report concerns and stay informed about local services.
The enhanced dispatch service reflects the Town’s continued commitment to improving accessibility, responsiveness and customer service while strengthening partnerships with the Province of Alberta. Residents are encouraged to report concerns by phone or online as soon as possible so requests can be received and addressed appropriately.
