(Cochrane, AB) – The Town of Cochrane is inviting residents to bring their passion for libraries, learning and community connection by applying to serve on the Cochrane Library Board.

Two public-at-large positions are currently available. Established by Council, the Board is responsible for guiding the library’s strategic direction, overseeing its financial sustainability and supporting policies and partnerships that reflect the community’s values and needs.

“Serving on the Cochrane Library Board is an opportunity to have a direct impact on one of our educational, cultural and community anchors,” said Stacey Loe, Executive Director of Corporate Services. “Board members participate in the management and regulation of operating the library, offering guidance on its services and programs while also establishing long-term strategic direction and priorties.”

Board members commit approximately 5–10 hours per month and are appointed for an initial three-year term. Residents of Cochrane or Rocky View County who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to apply.

Applications are open until Thursday, July 10, 2025. To learn more or apply, visit cochrane.ca/committees or contact legislative@cochrane.ca.
