Town of Cochrane now accepting applications for 2026 community grants

The Town of Cochrane is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Grant Program, offering funding to local non-profit and volunteer organizations that deliver services, host events, and lead projects that benefit Cochrane residents.

The Community Grant Program supports a wide range of initiatives, from essential community services and cultural events to capital improvements, environmental stewardship projects, and youth-led ideas. The program is designed to strengthen community partnerships and support organizations that play a key role in enhancing quality of life in Cochrane.

“Cochrane is fortunate to have a strong and active community sector,” said Michelle Ambrose, Director of Parks & Active Living. “These grants are about partnering with community organizations and volunteers who are already doing great work, and helping them bring ideas, services, and events to life for residents.”

Grant streams available for 2026 funding is available through several grant streams, including:

  • Community Operational Grants for organizations delivering ongoing services
  • Events Grants to support public events and festivals
  • Community Projects Grants for capital projects, accessibility improvements, and environmental stewardship initiatives
  • Community Organization Support Grants offering low-barrier funding for emerging or volunteer-led groups
  • Youth Innovation & Engagement Grants supporting youth-led projects and leadership development

Most grants are matching grants, meaning organizations contribute cash or in-kind support such as volunteer time, donated materials, or professional services. Organizations are encouraged to review program details in advance to determine the grant stream that best fits their project or service.
