Residents can find everything they need to know about the upcoming election, including full candidate details, advance voting opportunities and how to request a special ballot, at cochrane.ca/election.
To vote in the 2025 Cochrane municipal election, you must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen and a resident of Cochrane on election day.
Advance polls will be held at the SLS Centre from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 18, and at the Cochrane RancheHouse from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14 and Thursday, Oct. 16.
Voters may cast their ballot at any polling station during advance polls or on election day, Monday, Oct. 20.
Special ballots are available for voters unable to attend in person due to illness, absence from Cochrane, or employment as an election worker.
The Province of Alberta requires all voters to be listed on the Permanent Electors Register. While pre-registration closed on Sept. 14, voters who are not yet registered may do so when casting their ballot at advance polls or on election day.
Residents are encouraged to be informed voters by learning about each candidate and understanding the responsibilities of municipal elected officials.
