On October 16, 2025, the Town of Cochrane received notice that the Province of Alberta has filed formal charges against the Town for alleged offences under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act related to the 2023 wastewater release incident.
The Town is working with our legal representation to review the charges and prepare to respond to the allegations. As this matter is of a legal nature, the Town is unable to provide further details or respond to questions regarding the allegations.
