Cochrane Small Business Week 2025 brings together over 600 entrepreneurs, innovators and community leaders

(Cochrane, AB) – Cochrane Small Business Week 2025 wrapped up on Friday, October 24, receiving 630 attendees in a week-long celebration of local business under the 2025 theme, “Rising Tides Lift All Ships”.

With over 22 events, the week’s highlights included a pitch competition for new business ideas, workshops on hiring and interviewing, legal and financial insights and marketing strategy sessions — each designed to provide practical tools and inspiration for Cochrane’s business community to grow and thrive.

The Town of Cochrane participated in the first annual Business Resource Expo and hosted the Cochrane Business Incubator Open House. Both events invited residents and business owners learned more about the Cochrane business incubator programming and other programs that support startups. The newly enhanced 12-month business incubator program is designed to equip entrepreneurs with mentorship, tools and resources to build sustainable, thriving businesses. Program details and the program application are available at cochrane.ca/incubator.

The week concluded with the first annual Cochrane & District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Gala where the Chamber and its partners recognized outstanding businesses in eleven award categories. The Town sponsored the Emerging Business Award; the recipient, Expansive Edge, was selected for its success and connection to the community.  The gala marked the close of the week celebrating Cochrane’s business community.

Cochrane Small Business Week 2025 was organized and presented by the Cochrane Community Innovation Team (CCIT) — a partnership of the Cochrane Business Network, Cochrane & District Chamber of CommerceCommunity Futures Centre-WestCochrane Tourism Association and Innovate Cochrane, supported by the Town of Cochrane.
