(Cochrane, AB) – The Town of Cochrane is thanking residents and local organizations for making the inaugural Cochrane Volunteer Fair a success this past weekend. The Volunteer Fair was designed to make it easier for residents to discover meaningful ways to give back, while supporting local organizations in building the volunteer capacity they need to continue delivering programs and services in Cochrane.
Held at the Cochrane RancheHouse on April 11, 2026, the event welcomed approximately 500 attendees and featured 56 local non-profit and community organizations. The fair helped facilitate meaningful opportunities for connection, strengthening relationships across our community.
Residents explored a wide range of volunteer opportunities, from one-time events to ongoing roles, while organizations shared their missions and current volunteer needs, effectively expanding their support networks.
“Volunteers are at the heart of a strong, connected community,” says Michelle Ambrose, Director of Parks & Active Living, Community Services at the Town of Cochrane. “It was inspiring to see residents and organizations come together to build connections that will continue to make a difference in Cochrane. We’re so thankful to everyone that came out and helped create strong community connections together.”
The Town of Cochrane would like to thank the participating organizations, volunteers and residents who attended and contributed to the energy and success of the event. Their involvement demonstrates the strong spirit of volunteerism that continues to shape and strengthen the community.
