Derek is a board member and advisor for several organizations, including the Epilepsy Association of Calgary and the University of Calgary Properties Group. A CPA (CA) and University of Saskatchewan Commerce grad, he built his finance career at KPMG, then spent nine years at WestJet as Treasurer and VP of Finance, helping take the company through its IPO, before serving as CFO of DIRTT Environmental Solutions through its own IPO. He remains active at the University of Calgary as a mentor and advisor across several entrepreneurship and investment programs.
