Dave Ryan, KC, is the founder of Maverick Law and a senior Alberta lawyer with experience at two of Canada’s largest firms and a Calgary boutique. He holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Calgary and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta. In 2025, he was named King’s Counsel by the Attorney-General of Alberta in recognition of his career, his commitment to legal ethics, and his impact on the administration of justice.
Dave has served as in-house counsel to a hockey equipment company, advised the Justices of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and taught law at the post-secondary level. His practice spans corporate and commercial law, real estate, employment, intellectual property, and more, and he brings an independent, client-first approach to helping founders reach their goals as effectively as possible.
