Cochrane is home to five dedicated dog parks and one off-leash multiuse park.
Riverfront Park off-leash area
Under the Highway 22 bridge, Riverfront Park
This off-leash area is accessible from the boat launch parking lot off Griffin Road, east of Highway 22. Dogs must remain on-leash until reaching the clearly designated off-leash area. This spacious location includes both fenced and unfenced sections and provides ample room for dogs to run, explore and enjoy activities such as fetch in a natural riverfront setting.

Highway 22 large dog park

Located between Quigley Drive and West Rock Road, the Highway 22 large dog park offers expansive green space designed for large dogs. This off-leash area allows dogs to roam freely, socialize and play in an open environment, making it ideal for exercise and enrichment.

Highway 22 small dog park

The Highway 22 small dog park provides a designated off-leash space for puppies and small dogs. This park features ample green space where smaller dogs can safely roam, explore and play off-leash.

Heritage Vista off-leash area

Located in the community of Heritage, this neighbourhood off-leash area includes a small, fenced dog park for community use. It offers a secure and convenient space for off-leash play while remaining contained.

Heartland off-leash area

The Heartland off-leash area provides a designated space within the Heartland community for off-leash activity. This area offers a convenient location for regular exercise and socialization.
Jim Uffelmann Memorial Park off-leash area
181 Bow Bend Way
Jim Uffelmann Memorial Park is a designated off-leash park featuring a multi-use pathway system throughout the site. Located between the south end of River Avenue and the north side of the Jack Tennant Memorial Bridge, this park provides ample space for off-leash use while accommodating other pathway users.

*Note: You are responsible for keeping your dog under control at all dog parks and off-leash areas. They must respond to voice, sound or visual commands and always be in your sight.
Always pick up and dispose of dog waste to help prevent the spread of disease between dogs and from dogs to people. If you forget a bag, there are courtesy dog poop bag dispensers available. Garbage cans are located along pathways and in parks.
