Description
An accessible multi-sport court facility is being generously donated to Cochrane by Project Jumpstart. The project includes site grading, construction of sturdy foundations for play courts. Additionally, the installation of electrical service and lighting infrastructure is part of the plan to provide essential amenities for the facility.
The multi-sport court includes:
- sport and para sport court lines for basketball, tennis, ball hockey, volleyball, pickleball and badminton
- fixed-height and adjustable-height basketball nets
- self-guided play area
- contrasting colours to support visual impairment
- shaded double-wide benches for improved
accessibility - wheelchair-accessible seating and tables
- barrier-free entry points
Project updates
- Cochrane celebrated the opening of the Jumpstart Inclusive Multi Sport Court on July 16, 2025. The courts are now open for drop-in use.
- Final landscaping will be completed in 2025. Please used paved pathways to access the court.
