(Cochrane, AB) Building on the insights gathered last fall, the Town of Cochrane is inviting residents to participate in the next round of engagement for the Parks, Culture and Active Living Master Plan.

“Participating in this phase of engagement is critical,” says Michelle Delorme, Director of Parks and Active Living. “The Parks, Culture and Active Living Master Plan will guide how we make data-driven decisions for years to come. Community feedback—alongside data like usage trends, population growth, and evolving needs—will shape how we prioritize investment in Cochrane’s parks, recreation, and culture. In Phase 2, we’re asking residents to tell us what matters most so that future decisions reflect our shared priorities and vision.”

Last fall, the Town gathered input on what residents enjoy and where they participate in parks and culture activities. Now the focus is on sharing what we heard and asking the community to help prioritize the findings and share what matters most so that future decision reflect our shared priorities and vision.

This is your chance to directly influence how and where Cochrane invests in community spaces over the next decade,” adds Delorme. “Whether your priorities are accessibility, environmental sustainability, cultural celebration, lifelong wellness, or social connection—your voice will help define what quality of life looks like in Cochrane, now and for future generations.”

Engagement opportunities include an online survey and targeted focus groups. Feedback collected will help shape strategic priorities and final recommendations provided to Council in fall/winter 2025.

Residents are invited to help shape the strategic direction that will inform future investments in parks and recreation services, cultural programs, connectivity and active living in Cochrane over the next ten years.
