Fire advisory in effect for Town of Cochrane

As a result of the anticipated hot weather conditions and the current dry uncured grasses, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire advisory for the Town of Cochrane, effective at 12 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024. A fire advisory reflects moderate fire danger. 

During a fire advisory, open fires are allowed, but residents are reminded to be extra vigilant. Soaking the area adjacent to a fire pit with water is recommended. 

The following are allowed when fire hazard levels are fire advisory: 

  • open fire permits
  • Town fire pits
  • backyard fire pits
  • charcoal briquette barbecue
  • propane/natural gas barbecue
  • propane/natural gas fire pit
  • outdoor fireplace
  • chiminea
  • Fornos oven
  • indoor fireplace (wood burning)
