(Cochrane, AB) – Due to current and forecasted conditions the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire advisory, effective 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
A fire advisory indicates the fire danger rating is moderate. While no restrictions are currently in place, residents are reminded to take additional precautions and exercise increased vigilance.
Residents are encouraged to:
- Always supervise fires
- Keep a water source nearby
- Wet the area around fire features to prevent ignition
- Fully extinguish fires before leaving
The following activities are allowed:
- Town fire pits (Mitford Park, Riverfront Park, Cochrane Ranche)
- Backyard fire pits
- Charcoal briquette barbecues
- Propane or natural gas barbecues and fire pits
- Indoor and outdoor wood-burning fireplaces
- Chimineas and fornos ovens
- Pellet stoves and smokers
The Town of Cochrane will continue to monitor conditions and update the fire danger rating as needed.
